The Psychology Department of Cornell University anticipates hiring as many as three tenure-track assistant professors beginning 1 July 2013. Review of applications will begin 1 October 2012. We are particularly interested in (1) cognitive scientists doing research on memory, learning, attention, concepts, reasoning, problem solving, and/or action. (2) Candidates with expertise in behavioral and evolutionary neuroscience. We are interested in individuals who investigate both the evolution and the mechanisms of behavior, considering its natural context. (3) Candidates with expertise in social psychology and/or personality research. We are interested in applicants with research interests in judgment/decision-making, social cognition, attitudes, emotion, culture, and stereotyping/prejudice. Individuals in social/personality with research expertise using neuroscientific/biological approaches are especially encouraged to apply, including those using MRI/fMRI electrophysiology, eye-tracking techniques, physiological recordings, neuroendocrinology, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and genetic and epigenetic markers. Cornell University has recently built an MRI/fMRI center on the Ithaca campus.
