THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY invites applications for the
position of Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs/Director of Clinics.
Applications for the position of Associate Dean for Clinical
Affairs/Director of Clinics are being accepted by the University of
California, Berkeley School of Optometry.Reporting to the Dean of the
School of Optometry, the position is responsible for the day-to-day
operations of on-campus clinics and coordination of the off-campus
affiliated clinics, all of which are operated in support of the clinical
education programs for 2^nd , 3^rd , and 4^th year students in both the
OD and post-OD Resident programs.Specifically, the position oversees the
on-campus clinics with more than 100,000 annual patient encounters, 8
satellite off-campus clinics, and 36 affiliated externship sites.Patient
care is provided at these locations by more than 100 clinical faculty,
44 staff members, 15 Residents, and OD class sizes of 68 each.
At a minimum, applicants should have an OD degree, be able to acquire a
California license to practice, and demonstrate excellence in patient
care, management, and business skills.Experience in academic clinical
administration preferred.Compensation commensurate with experience.
