Research Technician
Department of Visual Neuroscience
Applications are invited for a full-time Research Technician to join the
research groups of Professors Andrew Stockman and Steven Dakin at the UCL
Institute of Ophthalmology in London to test peoples visual performance.
The work will focus on the recruitment of individuals to studies, the
scheduling of test sessions, and the measurement of visual performance in
individuals with and without eye disease. Duties will also include data
analysis and presentation, as well as general help around the laboratories.
The successful applicant should ideally have a BSc. in Optometry,
Psychology, Neuroscience, or a degree relevant to vision science. However,
applicants with extensive relevant experience will also be considered. The
person should be independent and highly motivated, and able to work
effectively both with patients and as part of a research team.
The position is available immediately and is funded by a National Institute
of Health Research Grant with funding until 31 March 2015 in the first
instance. Salary will be £25,927 - £28,810 per annum, depending on
experience. Any offer of employment will be subject to a Criminal Record
Bureau check.
