POSTDOC POSITION AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY

We seek a postdoctoral fellow to work with us on a project, funded by the
Simons Foundation, to examine the neural basis of autism spectrum
disorder. The successful applicant will be part of a research group that
aims to elucidate the alterations in cortical responses in individuals
with autism spectrum disorder. Current research projects explore the
inconsistency of the neural response in primary visual, auditory and
somatosensory cortex in these individuals, as revealed by functional
magnetic resonance imaging and evoked response potentials. The
relationship between these altered neural properties and the severity of
autism symptoms is also explored as is the specificity of this neural
profile to autism versus other disorders such as schizophrenia. Neural
connectivity, structural and functional, is also examined in this
population.

Candidates with a completed Ph.D. degree in cognitive, computational or
behavioral neuroscience and related fields are encouraged to apply.
Technical sophistication in analysing imaging and EEG data, and in
statistical analysis are an advantage.

The research is done in the context of a collaboration between Marlene
Behrmann (Carnegie Mellon University), Ilan Dinstein (Ben Gurion
University of the Negev) and David Heeger (NYU). The postdoc position will
be housed primarily at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. To apply,
please send the following tobehrmann at cmu.edu a. CV b. copies of 3 or so
publications c. Letters of recommendation from 3 people.
