The Advanced Image Research Group of Samsung at the Pasadena office is a
research-oriented team for CMOS/ToF imaging sensors. We're currently
recruiting for a computer vision researcher to join our group to develop new
vision algorithms. The location is in Pasadena, California. 

 


Sr. Image Processing Research Scientist


 

The qualified individual will be responsible for research, development,
prototype implementation and evaluation of novel image processing algorithms
for automated image recognition and understanding.

 

Responsibilities include:

-          Research and development of computer vision algorithms for image
recognition, understanding and other related areas with a focus on cognitive
processing

-          Implementation of prototype image processing algorithms

-          Analysis, debug and in-depth evaluation of algorithm performance
including statistical analysis of results

-          Documentation and reporting of results

-          Generation of patent disclosures and publications for novel
techniques

 

Minimum Requirements:

.         MS degree in CS, EE or related engineering area

.         3 or more years of computer vision research experience

.         Strong hands-on experience with computer vision algorithm
research, development, prototype implementation and demonstrated excellence
in these areas

.         Proficiency in artificial intelligence fundamentals including
image recognition, machine learning including neural networks, Bayesian
statistics, statistical modeling and other methods

.         Working experience with Matlab

.         Excellent problem solving skills

.         Must be a quick learner

.         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

.         Must be motivated and able to work without supervision

 

Optional:

.         PhD in computer vision, image processing, artificial intelligence
or machine learning is highly desired

.         Working experience with C++, Microsoft Visual Studio and software
development for Windows

.         Strong ability to debug software

.         Hands-on experience with OpenCV, NVidia CUDA

.         Ability to coach and lead junior engineers

.         Familiarity with camera image processing, color science,
semiconductor physics, optics, digital and analog electronic design
