It's only a few more weeks until we celebrate OPAM's 20th birthday with
another round of great talks and discussions and we therefore have a few
announcements to make.
---
First of all, we want to announce our three *OPAM 2012 travel award winners*
:
Lions or Tigers or Bears: Oh my! Hybrid visual and memory search for
categorical targets
*Corbin Cunningham (Johns Hopkins University)*
Small perceptual differences cause big problems when they make your “target
template” imprecise
*Michael Hout (Arizona State University)*
Fewer things, lasting longer: The effects of emotion on quantity judgments
*Laura Young (Boston College)*
*Congratulations!*
These awards were made possible, in part, by the National Eye
Institute/National Institutes of Health.
---
As you may have noticed, the talk schedule and poster presentation titles
are already available on the OPAM website. In addition, we have now also
posted a short version of our *meeting program
online*<http://www.opam.net/opam2012/OPAM2012_shortprogram.pdf>. Feel
free to browse and get excited.
Also note that we were able to get more poster boards for our presenters,
which means poster sizes can (but of course don't need to) be double the
size of the usual Psychonomics poster dimensions. That is, each OPAM poster
must fit on an 8 x 4 ft poster board.
---
Finally, we are throwing *OPAM a birthday party* to celebrate two decades
of great presentations and discussions on Object Perception, Attention, and
Memory!
Please join us Friday October 16th at Brit's Pub starting at 8:30pm for
drinks and food (note that the party is on Friday, the day after OPAM).
The party will start with an open bar. First come, first serve!
If you plan on attending the party, *please RSVP* using this link:
http://www.opam.net/opam2012/party.php
Keep checking our website (http://www.opam.net) for the latest updates as
we get closer.
We are looking forward to seeing you all in Minneapolis.
Your OPAM 2012 organizers,
*Carly Leonard, Melissa Võ, Josh Cosman, and Mike Mack*
