[visionlist] Postdoc Position

A Postdoctoral position is available for an NEI-funded project that will examine the visual deficits in adults and children with amblyopia. The project is a collaboration between Zhong-Lin Lu at the Ohio State University, Peter Bex and Luis Lesmes at Schepens Eye Research Institute/Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, and David Hunter at Children’s Hospital, Boston. The position is initially available for one year with the possibility of extension, and there will be opportunities to spend time in both Columbus, Ohio, and Boston, MA.

We seek individuals with a PhD (or equivalent) with experience in Bayesian Inference and machine learning. Successful applicants will help develop novel adaptive psychophysical tests, analyze large-scale longitudinal datasets on amblyopia and other visual deficits, and develop new classification procedures for visual diseases.

The appointment could begin as early as December 1, 2012 for a period of one year. Renewal is based on performance and availability of grant support. Salary will be commensurate with experience, minimum salary: $41,467.
