Postdoctoral Positions at University of Rochester: Visual Optics and
Psychophysics

Postdoc positions are available to conduct studies in the field of
visual optics and psychophysics in Geunyoung Yoon's Advanced
Physiological Optics Laboratory at the University of Rochester Flaum
Eye Institute.

Our previous work found evidence indicating that long-term visual
deprivation caused by the eye's optical defects gradually alters
human visual processing. The objective of the project is to
understand the limits of human vision by studying the relative
contribution of optical and neural factors to neural processing of
images formed by the optics of the eye. The project will use various
advanced correction methods including adaptive optics vision
simulator, customized ophthalmic lenses and corneal surgery that have
been validated previously. The project is also expanded to presbyopia
correction and binocular vision. The candidate will further be given
opportunity to learn/be involved in other translational research in
the laboratory including high-resolution corneal and anterior segment
imaging, multimodal human tear imaging for dry eye research and
corneal biomechanics.

The position is available immediately and applications will be
considered until the position has been filled. Enthusiastic
candidates with prior research experience in Optics and/or Visual
Psychophysics are invited to apply and should be proficient in spoken
and written English. Applications should include CV, one-page
statement of research experience and interests, and contact details
of three references. Please send application to Prof. Geunyoung Yoon
