Several Visual Cognitive Neuroscience labs at The Ohio State University are recruiting PhD students. Labs in this cluster include Dr. Dirk Bernhardt-Walther (http://bwlab.psy.ohio-state.edu/), Dr. Julie Golomb (Vision & Cognitive Neuroscience Lab; http://faculty.psy.ohio-state.edu/golomb/lab/index.html<%22>), Dr. Andy Leber (Cognitive Control Lab; http://faculty.psy.ohio-state.edu/leber/lab/<%22>), Dr. Zhong-Lin Lu (Laboratory of Brain Processes, http://lobes.osu.edu<http://lobes.osu.edu/>), Dr. Alex Petrov (Laboratory for Cognitive Modeling and Computational Cognitive Neuroscience; http://cogmod.osu.edu/<%22>), Dr. Per Sederberg (Computational Memory Lab; http://memory.osu.edu/<%22>), and Dr. Jim Todd (Vision Lab; http://faculty.psy.ohio-state.edu/todd/<%22>).
OSU is home to a vibrant community of cognitive neuroscientists, cognitive psychologists, and vision scientists in the Psychology department and other departments on campus. Our visual cognitive neuroscience labs employ a wide range of methodologies, including fMRI, EEG, eye-tracking, visual psychophysics, and neurally inspired models of visual processing. Students will have access to our new state-of-the-art fMRI and EEG centers located inside the Psychology building. The Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Brain Imaging (CCBBI)<http://ccbbi.osu.edu> houses a 3T Siemens TIM Trio MRI scanner which is equipped with state-of-the-art visual and auditory display systems and an EyeLink 1000 in-scanner eye-tracking system. The department also houses a world-class EEG facility with two electromagnetically-shielded and sound-attenuated testing rooms, each with its own Brain Products active-electrode EEG system.
OSU offers an exciting research environment with a strong focus on computational and mathematical modeling within psychology as well as interdisciplinary interactions with colleagues in electrical engineering, computer science, and the neuroscience program at OSU.
