Professor in Human Neuroscience
Royal Holloway, University of London

Professorial salary is in the range £58,508 to £100,676 per annum inclusive of London Allowance, dependent on assessment through the College Professorial Pay Banding Scheme.

Applications are invited for a permanent post at Professorial level in the Department of Psychology, Royal Holloway, University of London. This post is part of a strategic initiative to further strengthen the Department's research portfolio in sensory and cognitive neuroscience and to maximally exploit the Department's recently upgraded MRI Unit.

We invite applicants that demonstrate an outstanding international research profile, publishing in top tier academic journals, and a strong track record in gaining research funding. Successful applicants will be expected to have an established program of research in the neuroscience of human behaviour and expertise in functional MRI. Additional experience in other MRI techniques (e.g. DTI or MRS), ERP/EEG and/or TMS will also be an advantage. The Department welcomes applicants who are using these methods for research in any sub-area of human neuroscience. It is envisaged that the appointee will take on the Directorship of our MRI unit and provide strong leadership for neuroscience research in the Department.

The Department has excellent facilities for undertaking research in a broad range of areas, with state-of-the-art facilities available, such as MRI, EEG, TMS, eye trackers, behavioural testing suites, social and infant observation labs. It also has strong links with clinical organisations, as well as government, industrial, and charity affiliations. The College was ranked 88th in the Times HE World Rankings 2010 and currently maintains a position in the top 120.

This is a full time and permanent post based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London. The start date for this post is flexible however the appointee must take up the position by September 2013.
