The Vision & Image Understanding Laboratory
<http://www.psych.ucsb.edu/research/viu/> (Eckstein lab) & the Attention
Laboratory
<http://www.psych.ucsb.edu/labs/giesbrecht/Attention_Lab/Welcome.html>
(Giesbrecht Lab) in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences
at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for
a position as a post-doctoral researcher in functional magnetic
resonance imaging (fMRI) of perception, attention, learning and decision
making. The successful candidate will participate in projects at the
in-house Brain Imaging Center and Institute for Collaborative
Biotechnologies (ICB, http://www.icb.ucsb.edu/) integrating
computational modeling and psychophysics with computational approaches
to neuroimaging. This is an initial one year position with the
possibility for renewable annually. The post-doctoral researcher will
also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of ongoing
neuroscience and cognitive neuroscience activities sponsored by the Sage
Center for the Study of the Mind (http://www.sagecenter.ucsb.edu/) and
the UC Davis/UCSB Summer Institute in Cognitive Neuroscience

held almost annually at UC Santa Barbara.

Requirements: The successful candidate should have a strong technical
background and a Ph.D. in any of the following: Neuroscience, Cognitive
Neuroscience, Vision Science, Perceptual Psychology, Engineering or
related fields. Training and experience with vision-based fMRI
techniques including retinotopic mapping (_and ideally population
receptive fields_) and programming (e.g., MatLab), training and research
experience in visual psychophysics and computational modeling
preferable. The department is especially interested in candidates who
can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
through research, teaching and service.
