Postdoctoral position in attention and action
Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München / Germany
Under the supervision of Prof. Heiner Deubel
Starting date: February 2013 or later
The candidate will work in a project focused on multimodal perceptual
stability and spatial remapping which involves the collaboration of three
laboratories in Europe (Amsterdam, Munich and Paris). He/she will
investigate attention, eye-movements, visual-auditory and tactile
perception using behavioral and EEG methods. The lab is active in
investigations of perceptual stability and remapping, with two post-docs
currently working on related projects, ensuring open and collaborative
environment. The position will involve recurrent visits to the
collaborating sites in Amsterdam (Prof. Jan Theeuwes) and Paris (Prof.
Patrick Cavanagh and Dr. Thérèse Collins).
Training in attention/vision research and experience in eye-movement
recording are necessary as well as statistical and programming skills
(Matlab preferred). Speaking German is not a requirement as the team
members speak and work in English (team mostly composed of non-German Ph.D.
and Postdoctoral fellows).
Salary will be paid according to German standards (“TV-L” depending on
experience, for example a Ph.D. that has just finished his/her doctorate
will earn a gross salary of about 3400€/month giving around 2000€/month
after health insurance and all taxes paid), and additional benefits such as
end of year allowances. The position is for a minimum of 2 years and a
maximum of 2 years and 9 months.
