The prosthetic low vision rehabilitation (PLoVR) lab at the Johns
Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, MD, USA, is conducting
NIH-sponsored studies to develop an ultra-low vision rehabilitation
curriculum. As part of this project we are using activity self-reports
by retinal prosthesis wearers and individuals with ultra-low vision to
extend existing item difficulty scales for visual activities of daily
living. We have an immediate opening for a post-doctoral fellow with
specific training in item response theory and Rasch analysis to take on
quantitative analytic aspects of the project.
Formal training and/or experience in experimental psychology,
psychophysics of vision, low vision research, occupational therapy,
speech and language pathology and/or statistical modeling, and a PhD
in any of these areas will be important qualifiers in considering
applicants for this position.
Duration of this position is for 1 year initially, but can be
extended. Salary and benefits will be in accordance with NIH and
JHU norms.
Qualified candidates are encouraged to contact the PI, Gislin Dagnelie
gdagnelie at jhmi.edu as soon as possible.
