The Active Perception Laboratory at the Center for Mind/Brain Sciences (CIMeC) at the University of Trento seeks to fill a research assistant position for an ERC-funded project on perception of space and time.
This position would be ideal for someone who has an interest in pursuing a research or clinical career and who would like to try out a period of intensive research activity in a vibrant and international setting prior to applying for doctoral school.
Duties would include recruiting and testing subjects in behavioral and neuroimaging experiments. Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree (Italian 3 + 2 degree: "laurea magistrale") or equivalent. Experience with programming experiments, analyzing data or with neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG/MEG or TMS) is particularly encouraged. Good knowledge of both Italian and English languages would be ideal. The position is for 1 year with the possibility of renewal for up to 4 years total.

The Center offers a stimulating setting in which to investigate the functioning of the brain through the analysis of its functional, structural and physiological characteristics, in both normal and pathological states. Researchers at the Center make use of state-of-the-art neuroimaging methodologies, including a research-only MRI scanner, MEG, EEG and TMS, as well as behavioral, eye tracking and motion tracking laboratories. The University of Trento is ranked first among research universities in Italy, and the Trentino region is consistently at the top for quality of life and for the most efficient services in Italy.
English is the official language of the CIMeC, where a large proportion of the faculty, post-docs and students come from a wide range of countries outside of Italy. CIMeC's headquarters (administrative offices, labs and PhD School) are in Rovereto, about thirty kilometres south of Trento. The neuroimaging labs are in Mattarello (eight kilometers south of Trento).
