We are one of the UKâs oldest and most successful psychology
departments with an established track record of excellence in research
and teaching. Founded in 1963 â and celebrating our 50th anniversary in
2013, the School was ranked 7th in the UK (100+ departments) in the 2008
Research Assessment Exercise, and in the top 5 nationally for teaching
quality in the 2012 National Student Survey.
We invite applications for the post of Research Fellow in the School of
Psychology. We seek to appoint a candidate with research excellence in
any area of Psychology. The School has particular strengths in
Perception, Memory and Action; Language, Bilingualism and Cognitive
Development, Social Neuroscience, Clinical, Health and Behavioural
Psychology.
While also working collaboratively with existing faculty and other
colleagues within the School, it is expected that the Research Fellow
will develop a strong independent research profile, including a
commitment to seeking external research funding support.
You will have a PhD, considerable postdoctoral research experience, and
a track record in publication of high quality (3*/4*) outputs (including
a significant number of 1st author papers). It is expected that the
successful candidate will undertake some teaching at undergraduate
and/or postgraduate levels, and contribute to the administrative duties
of academic staff.
The successful candidate will be expected to start 1st September, 2013,
or as soon as possible thereafter, and the post is available until end
of August, 2016.
