A research assistant/ lab manager position will be available starting late
Summer of 2013. Soojin Park's Visual Cognitive Neuroscience lab at Johns
Hopkins University focuses on understanding of visual scene perception and
memory, spatial navigation, and the interaction of memory and attention
with scene recognition. This position will work on all aspects of cognitive
neuroscience studies using fMRI technique on normal adults. The primary
duties and responsibilities of the job include all aspects of research:
conduct fMRI and behavioral experiments, recruiting and escorting
participants to the fMRI scanner; running the experiment; preprocessing and
analyzing data; organizing and maintaining participants and data files in
data base; supervising undergraduate students in the lab and overseeing and
coordinating daily activities on multiple projects in the lab. This
position is ideal of an individual who is interested in Ph.D. programs in
cognitive neuroscience. Commitment of 2 years required.

*Qualifications*:
B.A. or B.S. in cognitive psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, or
computer science with evidence of academic achievement. Strong computer
skills are highly desirable, including an experience with Matlab. Previous
research experience through academic training or previous work experience
required. Strong interpersonal skills, high level of organization with
careful attention to detail, and comfort with technical skills is
preferred. Knowledge of experimental research design/methodology necessary;
knowledge of fMRI data analysis and research procedures not necessary but
preferred. Knowledge of graphics software (e.g., photoshop) preferred. This
position requires a high degree of motivation and self-sufficiency,
although extensive training and supervision will be provided.
