Missions
The Rennes R&I Center (https://research.technicolor.com/rennes )the largest Technicolor research facility, is looking for a senior lead researcher in color science.  The candidate will participate to the creation of a strategy on color science, launching and leading the execution of associated research projects and supporting any related standardization efforts.  In this role, the successful applicant will be required to coordinate the collaboration of researchers as well as renowned color experts from our Business Units.  In support to that mission, the applicant will have access to a unique mix of resources (color scientists, post-production colorists, engineers, business experts, etc) and equipment (professional cameras, displays, measuring devices, etc).  As part of his role, the successful applicant will participate to the external promotion of Technicolor technologies via publications and invited talks. A solid scientific profile associated with strong communication skills are required in order to execute this role in a team of Technicolor experts and in link with the scientific community.
As a senior lead researcher and member of our scientific staff, the successful applicant will:
*       Lead a team of research scientist and engineers with expertise in color science.
*       Communicate, evangelize and build support around Technicolor's innovative color solutions.
*       Organize and execute research activities in the field of color science.
*       Understand current market trends and propose new research topics to feed Technicolor innovation.
*       Create an external scientific network enabling collaborations, talent hiring and visibility.

Education / Experience
*       Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math or other relevant discipline.
*       5+ years research experience following PhD. Industry experience is preferred.
*       Strong background in Color Science and Image Processing.
*       Experienced in software development (C/C++, Windows/Linux).
*       Proven track record in publications, technical innovation and problem solving.
*       Team spirit, enthusiastic, motivated, and creative attitude.
*       Fluent English mandatory.
*       Prior experience on content creation, film making and post-production would be a big plus.
