The Canon U.S.A. Innovation Center located in San Jose, CA is seeking PhD students for summer internships in 2013. Interns will work on research topics related to image capture and analysis, including multispectral, to improve recognition. Working in a research environment, interns will explore novel approaches to improve image recognition within the project scope.

Qualifications:
* Ph.D. student in Engineering and/or Computer Science
* Knowledge of Matlab and/or C++
* Research background in one or more of the following:
- image processing
- computer vision using machine learning techniques
- illumination-based computer vision
- computational illumination
- image capture, including multispectral
- simulation of imaging systems
* Good written and oral communication skills
