A Postdoctoral position in Visualization Genomics is available in the laboratory of Dr. Aaron Golden, Department of Genetics, Division of Computational Genetics, at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York city (http://goldenlab.einstein.yu.edu). The lab has access to, and is interested in developing core expertise in, (i) cloud/grid infrastructures (ii) large-scale SMP platforms (iii) GPGPU/FPGA platforms, with the purpose of utilizing these significant computational resources to optimize the visual exploration and analysis of specific genomics, microbiomics and metabolomics datasets. The successful candidate would take the lead in the development of evolutionary computing algorithms to holistically cluster and visualize multiple datasets in a both static and dynamic fashion, with the goal of offering the user a real-time exploratory analysis experience of their high-dimensional data.

We require a suitably qualified and highly motivated individual with a strong background in computer science, with a particular emphasis on machine learning, computer vision and application development on high performance/accelerated platforms to take the lead in exploring this visualization discovery paradigm. The postdoctoral associate will work closely with the other members of the lab, and more widely Division, and in particular will use both basic science and clinically oriented genomics projects to act as the driver for the technological innovation. Competitive salary and benefits will be offered based on qualifications.
