Aptina is a global provider of CMOS imaging solutions with a growing
portfolio of products that can be found in all leading mobile phone and
notebook computer brands as well as a wide range of products for digital
and video cameras, surveillance, medical, automotive and industrial
applications. Camera System Group at Aptina consists of a group of
talented and highly motivated engineers aiming at developing
cutting-edge image processing algorithms for CMOS imaging sensors with
applications in 3D imaging, high dynamic range (HDR) imaging,
computational imaging, and imaging for information. The Color Imaging
Scientist will help developing color imaging solutions for CMOS cameras,
evaluating internal and external color imaging technologies, and
supporting customers to solve color related problems. This job is
located in San Jose, California.

Job responsibilities

*         Develop color imaging algorithms for camera pipeline including
auto white balance and color correction

*         Develop color rendering solutions for pictorial and machine
vision applications 

*         Evaluate pipeline color performance through simulation or
device testing and drive for performance improvement 

*         Track cutting-edge color imaging technologies in industry and
academia

*         Provide color imaging support to product and marketing teams
and to customers

Minimum requirements

*         3+ years relevant working experience 

*         Strong technical background and a passion for engineering

*         In-depth knowledge of color sciences 

*         Solid programming experience in Matlab/C 

*         Experience in image simulation and image quality evaluation a
plus

*         Experience with camera image processing pipeline a plus

*         Excellent communication and technical presentation skills

*         Proactive, responsive and keen on processing enhancement

*         A strong team player; self-motivated and able to work
independently 

*         MS/Ph.D. in vision sciences, color sciences, image processing,
or related fields
