[visionlist] Congratulations to Eileen Kowler, the inaugural recipient of the Davida Teller Award

VSS will for the first time present the Davida Teller Award at the 2013
annual meeting.  Davida was an exceptional scientist, mentor and colleague,
who for decades led the field of visual development. The award is therefore
given to an outstanding woman vision scientist with a strong history of
mentoring.

 

Congratulations to Eileen Kowler of Rutgers University, who is the inaugural
recipient of the Davida Teller Award.  Eileen transformed the field of
oculomotor research by showing that eye movements are not machine-like
visuomotor responses, but are driven by and tightly linked to attention,
prediction, and cognition.

 

The award will be presented at the VSS Awards Session at VSS 2013 in Naples,
Florida on Monday, May 13 at 1:00 pm.
