Dear Colleagues,

The deadline for submissions to the IEEE Workshop on Multimodal and Alternative Perception for Visually Impaired People (MAP4VIP) has been extended to March 14, 2013, 11:59 pm. This workshop will be held in conjunction with the ICME 2013 (http://www.icme2013.org/) conference from July 15-19, 2013 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California, USA.

For submissions, please visit https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/ICMEW2013 and for further details please see the workshop homepage at http://www-cs.engr.ccny.cuny.edu/%7Ezhu/MAP4VIP/.

Here are a few updates/reminders:

(1) A proposal to NSF to support the workshop has been recommended for funding. Upon approval, we could support 15 attendees (about $1200 each on average) for travel who traditionally do not attend ICME, including students/young researchers presenting papers and domain experts contributing to the workshop as panelists/speakers.

(2) One best paper award and one to two awards for best student papers (oral and poster) will be given, each with a $500 cash award, sponsored by Microsoft Research and the Grove School of Engineering/CCNY.

(3) Selected papers will be considered for special issues in IEEE Transactions.

We look forward to seeing your submissions.

Best,

Tony
