The University of Western Australia (UWA) is ranked in the top 100 of all universities (Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Academic Ranking of World Universities 2012).  In the recent Excellence in Research for Australia assessment, Psychology at UWA achieved the top rating of 5, being one of only 5 institutions in Australia to rate at this highest level for this discipline. Applications to join the School are invited from individuals with a strong research background in human sensory perception. Applicants should hold, or be close to completing, a PhD in Psychology. The successful applicant will be expected to develop internationally competitive research in sensory perception, ideally of a type that intersects with areas of established research strength in the School: visual perception, person perception, cognition, abnormal psychology (including emotion), developmental psychology and social/organisational psychology. The appointee will have responsibility for coordinating and providing a substantial block of lectures in an undergraduate Perception and Sensory Neuropsychology unit, and will be asked to contribute to other units as required. The successful applicant will also be expected to supervise research students at Honours and Postgraduate levels.
