[visionlist] Macular Carotenoids Conference 2013: Call for abstracts

Dear all,

The second biennial Macular Carotenoids Conference 2013 is fast approaching and the call for abstracts is now open. The Macular Carotenoids Conference 2013 will be held from the 10th to the 12th July 2013 in Downing College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, UK. This conference is for macular carotenoid researchers, exploring up-to-date and evidence-based hypotheses and the supporting research data into the role of the macular carotenoids in age-related macular degeneration (AMD), vision, and cognitive function.

The call for abstracts is now open and we would like to inform you that the deadline for submission is Friday 29th of March 2013 at 5 pm EST. Abstracts can be submitted on the Macular Carotenoids Conference 2013 website Abstract section, http://www.macularcarotenoids.org/submissions/submit_an_abstract

Points to note:

  *   Abstracts will be reviewed for suitability by members of the conference organising committee, and revisions will be requested if required.
  *   The first author of accepted abstracts will be instructed to prepare the work for poster presentation at the conference.
  *   Posters will be displayed during the conference.
  *   The first author will be given the opportunity to present the work in the Howard Theatre as part of the conference programme using three Powerpoint slides (3 minutes allowed for presentation and 2 minutes for questions). The best poster and presentation will be awarded the Howard Medal and a cash prize. Runner up prizes will also be awarded. These prizes will be announced at the Gala Conference dinner.
