Call for Papers

35th German Conference on Pattern Recognition (GCPR 2013)

    Saarbruecken, Germany, September 3-6, 2013
Extended Paper Submission Deadline: April 19, 2013
    http://www.gcpr2013.uni-saarland.de

GCPR 2013 is the 35th Annual Symposium of the German Association for
Pattern Recognition (DAGM, www.dagm.de). These symposia belong to the
oldest and largest domestic conferences on pattern recognition, image
processing, and computer vision. They use English as the conference
language, have acceptance rates around 45 %, proceedings in the Springer
LNCS series, and a substantial number of international attendees.

To reflect the internationalization of the annual DAGM symposia, this
conference series has been renamed into German Conference on Pattern
Recognition (GCPR), and a number of international experts have joined
the program committee.

We are looking forward to welcoming researchers and interested newcomers
in pattern recognition, image processing, computer vision, and related
areas to present and discuss recent advances. In the long tradition of
DAGM symposia, the single track program as well as the poster sessions
will provide ample opportunity for open-minded discussions and inter-
action.

The conference will include a Young Researchers Forum and a Special
Session on Robust Optic Flow. Moreover, on September 3, it will
feature a number of additional special events:

  * Tutorial on Computational Plenoptic Imaging
  * Tutorial on Shape from Shading in Theory and Algorithms
  * Workshop on Unsolved Problems in Pattern Recognition and
    Computer Vision
  * Workshop on New Challenges in Neural Computation
  * Workshop on Imaging New Modalities

We are happy to announce that Jitendra Malik (Berkeley), Jean-Michel
Morel (ENS Canchan), and Eugene Myers (MPI for Molecular Cell Biology
and Genetics, Dresden) have agreed to give keynote talks.

We invite paper submissions via the electronic submission system on
the conference website by April 19, 2013. Topics include, but are not
limited to:

  * image processing and computer vision,
  * machine learning and pattern recognition,
  * mathematical foundations, statistical data analysis and models,
  * computational photography and confluence of vision and graphics,
  * applications in natural sciences, engineering, biomedical
    data analysis, imaging, and industry.

All manuscripts will be subject to a double-blind review process.
The paper length is limited to 10 pages, and the proceedings will be
published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS)
series. The best contributions will receive GCPR awards.

As organizers of GCPR 2013 we are looking forward to your contri-
butions and to welcoming you in Saarbruecken.
