The Vision Science Research Group, within the School of 
Biomedical Sciences at the University of Ulster currently has an 
opening for a PhD student, funded by the Department for 
Employment and Learning.

The intended topic of the research is visual function in Retinitis 
Pigmentosa, but prospective students with other interests relevant 
to the Group are free to apply. Applicants should possess a good 
Honours degree in optometry, psychology, medicine or related 
discipline and be UK residents. 
Additional stipends are available for students with First Class 
Honours degrees.

The School obtained a Research grading of 5* (the highest) in the 
2001 UK Research Assessment Exercise.
