Salary scale:

Lecturer =A319575 - =A326,686
Senior Lecturer =A325,793 - =A332,910 (bar at =A329,348)

The Department has the opportunity to appoint several new members of=20
academic staff to its team teaching courses in Optometry and Ophthalmic=20
Dispensing. Currently the Department has over 500 students enrolled. The=20
Department is increasing its provision of open (distance) learning courses,=
=20
and candidates with experience in the development or provision of open=20
learning  material would be particularly welcome.

We are seeking applicants with a strong research background in any area=20
relevant to the department, or with experience relevant to teaching in our=
=20
priority areas, which are the field of ophthalmic dispensing, and ocular=20
diseases and pathology.

Applicants should possess
=A7       a degree or  professional qualifications in Optometry or=
 Ophthalmic=20
Dispensing.
or
=A7       a degree in a relevant science discipline and with a higher degree=
=20
in an area such as biological sciences, vision sciences or physiology.

Research experience (and preferably a higher degree by research) is=20
desirable. Registration with the General Optical Council will be an=
 advantage.
