PhD thesis in Neuroscience

A PhD student position is available to work with Marcus Missal at the=20
Laboratoire de Neurophysiologie of the Universit=E9 Catholique de Louvain in=
=20
Brussels. The research focuses on the study of the neuronal basis of=20
anticipatory smooth pursuit in the supplementary eye fields and on the=20
study of the inhibitory control of smooth pursuit eye movements by=20
omnipause neurons. The experimental model is the monkey (Macaca mulatta).=20
Applicants are expected to have a background in Neuroscience, Cognitive=20
Psychology, or a related field. Programming skills and experience with=20
neurophysiological methods are desirable. The successful applicant is=20
expected to start working in September 2003.
The lab is located in Brussels, where plenty of accommodation is available.=
=20
The stipend will be aligned on international standards and health insurance=
=20
included in the package. The successful applicant should have a good=20
command of English or French and have an excellent academic record.
