Dear friend and colleague,

   each year, researchers from Italy and from abroad meet at the Department
of Psychology of the University of Trieste to discuss issues in Perception
and Cognition. This year, the meeting is scheduled to begin on Thursday,
October 24 and it will end on Saturday, October 26.  We hope that you will
be able to attend and to contribute a presentation on your recent research.

     Since 1993, to honor the memory of the late Gaetano Kanizsa, the
meeting also includes the Kanizsa Lecture. This year, Patrick Cavanagh has
agreed to speak on: "The Language of Vision".
