Programmer/Analyst position available at the Beckman Vision Center,

University of California, San Francisco. The candidate will work with

principal investigators, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate students in
<br>
multiple laboratories funded by the National Eye Institute by assisting
<br>
with all aspects of vision research that require computer support. The
<br>
position offers an academic, interactive, and exciting environment for a
<br>
creative, flexible person interested in research. Responsibilities will
<br>
include the following: computer programming (C++ and MATLAB); assistance
<br>
with design and implementation of neurophysiological experimental systems
<br>
for stimulus display, data acquisition, storage, and analysis as well as
<br>
assistance with application and use of computers, peripherals, and
software <br>
for a multitude of research applications; maintenance of laboratory 
<br>
computer systems, servers, networks; diagnosing computer software and
<br>
hardware problems; computer repairs, troubleshooting experimental set-up
<br>
problems. Applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree,
excellent <br>
knowledge of PC and Macintosh systems, and programming expertise. Some
<br>
background in experimental research or biology would be a strong
asset.&nbsp; <br>
Individual must have excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving
<br>
abilities, and gadgeteering instincts. The starting date is immediate.
<br>
Salary range $60,000-70,000 per year, contingent on experience.
