Monash University has established the Monash Fellowship scheme to:

*	Attract internationally competitive researchers to undertake =
research=20
of national and international significance (including young researchers=20=

from overseas with great future potential) and provide them with the=20
best possible environment to establish a productive laboratory or other=20=

research team and to foster collaborations;=A0
*	Provide research support to successful Australian based =
researchers=20
wishing to move to Monash University to enhance their research career.

Applications are invited from researchers with two to eight years of=20
post-doctoral research experience, calculated from the date of=20
submission of PhD thesis, and with demonstrated research outcomes at=20
international level. The Fellowships are tenable only at Monash=20
University and it is expected that most of the time will be spent at=20
the relevant Monash department/centre. Following a Monash-conducted=20
competitive process, up to four successful applicants=A0will be awarded=20=

up to A$130,000 per annum comprising a salary in the Research Fellow=20
Level B range - including on-costs - plus a research support grant of=20
up to A$50,000 per annum for 5 years.=A0Removal costs and return economy=20=

air fares will be paid, for Fellow plus partner and dependent children=20=

in accordance with University policy.

Part of the cost of the Fellowship, plus any additional set-up funds=20
and facilities, are to be provided by the Department where the Fellow=20
intends to conduct research. Therefore, it is ESSENTIAL THAT ANY=20
POTENTIAL APPLICANTS CONTACT THE DIRECTOR OF THE MONASH UNIVERSITY=20
BRAIN AND BEHAVIOUR CENTRE, Dr. Marcello Rosa (address below), prior to=20=

submitting an application. This will ensure that the potential=20
applicant is placed in contact with the relevant Head of Department.

Applicants with a neuroscience background, including any aspect of=20
visual science, are encouraged to apply. Research excellence (measured=20=

selection criterion.
