A Postdoctoral Position in Visual and Oculomotor Neurophysiology is
available in the laboratory of Vincent Ferrera, Center for Neurobiology
and Behavior, Columbia University, New York City.

Areas of interest include motion processing, attention, working memory,
and decision-making. 

Approaches include multi-electrode recording, microstimulation, and
pharmacological inactivation in behaving primates, as well as human psychophysics.

Candidates should have a strong quantitative background and a Ph.D. in
Neuroscience, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Psychology or a
related field.  Expertise with Matlab is essential, and C/C++ highly desirable.

The laboratory is located in the brand new Keck-Mahoney Center for Brain
and Behavior Research at the Health Sciences Campus of Columbia
University in Northern Manhattan. We share a floor with 5 other groups
also working on issues of systems neuroscience with diverse interests
ranging over early vision, attentional mechanisms, oculomotor control,
emotional circuitry and computational neurobiology. Our Center is
particularly committed to maintaining a strongly interactive and
collaborative atmosphere amongst the different laboratories.
