Postdoctoral Position in Physiology of the Thalamus

A position is available for research projects investigating the systems, =
cellular and molecular biological properties of thalamic neurons, with =
an emphasis on the role of t-type calcium channels. Projects involve =
investigating the cell biology, pharmacology, and regulation of these =
channels in cell lines and brain slices, including opportunities to =
study non-human primates with combined molecular and physiological =
approaches. Areas of particular interest include the neuromodulation of =
these channels, including the regulation of channel expression in both =
normal and pathophysiological states and as a consequence of substance =
abuse. We have several presentations at the Society for Neuroscience =
meeting, and will meet there if arranged in advance. Both predoctoral =
and postdoctoral trainees have successfully captured individual funding. =
Wake Forest University is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity =
Employer. Minorities and women are strongly encouraged to apply. Send CV =
and statement of research interests to: Dwayne W. Godwin, Associate =
Professor, Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy, Wake Forest =
University School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, NC 27157 or email at =
dgodwin@wfubmc.edu . For a list of some of our current projects see =
