Department of Psychology at Vanderbilt University

The Department of Psychology at Vanderbilt University invites=20
applications for a full-time research assistant position to work in the=20=

Motion, Attention and Control (MAC) lab directed by Professor Adriane=20
Seiffert.=A0 Research in the lab aims to understand how visual attention=20=

interacts with motion perception and visuo-motor systems to track the=20
motion of target objects.=A0The methods of investigation include human=20=

psychophysics, traditional cognitive experiments, and human=20
neuroimaging (fMRI).=A0Training on any or all of these techniques will =
be=20
offered.

Responsibilities include screening and scheduling participants,=20
conducting experiments, preparing, analyzing and archiving data, as=20
well as writing research reports.=A0The successful candidate should be=20=

able to work independently as well as function as a part of a=20
multi-disciplined team.=A0Organizational skills are important.=A0

Candidates should have a completed Bachelor's or Master's Degree and=20
have a background in visual science, cognitive psychology, and/or human=20=

functional neuroimaging.=A0Some programming skills are required (such as=20=

fundamentals of C, Unix or Matlab). Salary commensurate with=20
experience.=A0

This is a two-year position starting September 2004, with possibility=20
