PhD Studentships
Applications are invited for PhD places within the Vision Group in =20
Psychology.
Potential supervisors include Tom Freeman, Alex Holcombe, Michael =20
Lewis, Simon Rushton and Bob Snowden.
Potential areas of research include (but are not limited to): motion =20
psychophysics, spatial vision, depth perception, eye movements, visual =20=
guidance of action, face perception, feature binding, visual attention.
In the first instance applicants should identify and contact potential =20=

The vision group in Psychology has excellent facilities contained =20
within new, purpose-built labs equipped with state-of-the-art =20
technology. The group is part of a wider vision community within =20
Cardiff University (including research in Optometry, Biomedical =20
Sciences and Computer Science) and is geographically close to other =20
concentrations of vision researchers in the UK.
The School of Psychology is one of the largest and most successful in =20=
the UK.=A0 It recently was awarded a 5* (maximum) rating in the UK =20
research assessment exercise.
Cardiff is the youngest and fastest growing capital city in Europe. =A0It =
=20
is in very close proximity to the beautiful Welsh countryside, has a =20
two hour rail link to London and a (cheap) one hour air link to Paris =20=
and Amsterdam.
