Four, 3-year postdoctoral research assistant positions will be=20=
available this summer for an exciting new, multi-centre research=20
project that will explore the interactions between human attention and=20=
emotion. The project will use four different levels of analysis to=20
study this question (cognitive behavioural; ERP, computational=20
modelling, and fMRI), each at a different centre. One post doctoral=20
research position will be allocated to each UK centre but will =91rotate=92=
=20
for a short period of time through each of the other sites to promote=20
cross disciplinary skills. This is an excellent opportunity to=20
experience a wide range of important cognitive neuroscience approaches=20=
directed cohesively at a interesting and topical issue.
The project=92s Centres are:
(1) University of Wales, Bangor (Psychology) for =
cognitive-behavioural=20
studies;
(2) Birkbeck College, London (Psychology), for ERP experiments;
(3) King=92s College, London (Mathematics) for computational =
modelling;=20
and
(4) Oxford University (Experimental Psychology) for fMRI studies.
If you are potentially interested in one of these posts, please contact=20=
(preferably via email ) one or more of the project directors (listed=20
below) for more information about the project and details regarding=20
each position.
Applicants are expected to have a PhD in a relevant discipline =
and=20
preference will be given to those who have experience in the study of=20
=91attention=92 and/or =91emotion=92 within the domain of cognitive=20
neuroscience. Experience in one or more of the approaches to be taken=20
(behavioural, modelling, ERP, fMRI) is also necessary. Programming=20
experience with the use of E-prime or related technical tools is an=20
advantage.
If you are interested in one of these posts and will be at the Vision=20
Sciences Society meeting in Sarasota (April 29th =96 May 5th), Jane=20
Raymond and Kimron Shapiro would be pleased to meet with you there.=20
Please contact us in advance to make arrangements.
