POST-DOC IN PERCEPTION & ACTION
BROWN UNIVERSITY
A post-doctoral Research Associate position in Perception and Action is=20=
available in the Dept. of Cognitive and Linguistic Sciences beginning=20
July 1, 2004.=A0The NIH-funded project investigates the visual control =
of=20
human locomotor behavior in dynamic environments, including steering,=20
obstacle avoidance, interception, escape, interactions with other=20
agents, and their integration, using a state-of-the-art ambulatory=20
virtual reality laboratory (the VENLab).=A0Control strategies are =
modeled=20
using a dynamical systems approach, with potential applications to=20
robotics.=A0Candidates should have a background in human perceptual=20
and/or motor research and expertise in some combination of computer=20
graphics programming, kinematic analysis and signal processing, and/or=20=
dynamical systems modeling.=A0Ph.D. must be completed before starting,=20=
