A postdoctoral replacement position is likely to become available in=20
the near future in the School of Psychology at the University of Wales,=20=
Bangor. Professor Kimron Shapiro will be seeking to find a suitable=20
candidate to assist in a funded research project for approximately 30=20
months to replace the current postdoc who may not be returning from=20
maternity leave. The project is funded by the Wellcome Trust and=20
involves behavioural, neuropsychological, and neuroimaging experiments=20=
on the attentional blink (AB) phenomenon. Salary is excellent and=20
travel funds to conferences are included.
=A0The successful candidate will have a Ph. D., experience in the field=20=
of =91attention=92 within the domain of cognitive neuroscience, and be=20=
familiar with the attentional blink (AB) paradigm, and programming=20
(e.g., E-Prime) and statistical analysis (e.g., SPSS) packages.=20
Experience with neuroimaging and/or research involving patients is an=20
asset.
=A0The School of Psychology was rated at the very top (5*) in the most=20=
recent research assessment exercise (RAE) and currently has a staff of=20=
17 people in the cognitive neuroscience group. We have access to a 1.5T=20=
magnet at the nearby hospital as well as ERP and TMS facilities in the=20=
School. Bangor is located between the Irish Sea and the Snowdonia=20
mountains, providing an outstanding living and working environment.
