Denis,
If you don't mind a hands-on approach, I've grown rather fond lately
of doing my graphics in R, an opensource version of S, that runs on
nearly any platform. If you are used to Matlab, it will take
some getting used to, because it uses a different syntax, but
you get with it all the computational power of Matlab with
extremely powerful statistical engines, as well. Take a look
