We would like to invite you to join the Association for the Scientific=20=

Study of Consciousness. Founded in 1994, the ASSC is the only=20
scholarly, scientific membership organization specifically devoted to=20
the study of consciousness and its related issues. Members are drawn=20
from the disciplines of psychology, philosophy, and neuroscience, but=20
the society welcomes all scholars with a serious academic interest in=20
the study of consciousness.

The ASSC organises annual scientific meetings in North America and=20
Europe. Our next North American meeting will take place at the=20
California Institute of Technology, from the 24th to the 27th of June=20
2005. In June 2006, our European meeting will be held at St. Anne's=20
College, Oxford. As with all ASSC conferences, contributed papers are=20
welcome on all topics relevant to the rigorous study of consciousness.

In addition to our annual meeting, the ASSC publishes two journals,=20
"Consciousness & Cognition" and PSYCHE=20
<http://psyche.cs.monash.edu.au>, runs email discussion lists on the=20
topic of consciousness, and holds an international competition for the=20=

best paper by a new researcher in the field of consciousness studies.

Membership is just $30 per annum ($50 for two years) and entitles
people to a number of benefits, including:

**A substantial discount on our annual meeting.
**25% discount on all Oxford University Press book publications.
**25% discount on all MIT Press book publications.
**25% discount on Christof Koch's new book "The Quest for=20
Consciousness".
**A discount on the journal "Consciousness and Cognition".

Information on all ASSC activities, and a membership application form,=20=

can be found at the association's web page: <http://assc.caltech.edu/>.=20=

If you have further questions you are invited to contact the ASSC=20
