The goal of the International Dark-Sky Association is =93To preserve and
protect the nighttime environment and our heritage of dark skies through
quality outdoor lighting=94. Light pollution provides no useful
lighting, compromises nighttime vision, wastes significant amounts of
energy, and threatens astronomical research. <br>
<br>
This year=92s annual meeting is focusing in part on vision, particularly
vision at night, amongst other topics such as lighting and ecology and
lighting and human health. Architects, lighting designers,
biologists, artists, psychologists, and computer scientists are just an
example of some of the people we are interested in hearing from.<br>
<br>
Abstracts for oral and poster papers are welcome.<br>
